1. Personal Background: Valerie Jardin was Born and raised in France, but currently lives in Minnesota, USA. She speaks fluent French and loves the culture. Her passion for humankind drives her to shoot mostly street photography. She feels pure joy when teaching photography. She went to school at Central Community College - Hastings, NE.
2. Style: Valerie Jardin does so many styles of photography. She does street photography and Learns how to include people in your frame with a gentle approach to street photography. From street portraits to candid shots, every day will bring new opportunities to practice techniques and get over the fear of photographing strangers in the street. She also does light and shadow, objects, street dogs (etc).
3. Philosophy: Valerie Jardin has a very creative way of thinking. She has taken pictures in New York, Rome, and Paris. Her major ideas were inspired from the people/things she saw around her. She looks to shoot the extraordinary in the ordinary. She mainly focuses on the details; Valerie truly sees the beauty in all life.
4. Influences: The photographer has influenced me by traveling all over the world to large cities. She truly loves her work and takes amazing photos. Valerie makes everything look very cool in black and white and she has inspired me to use that more often. But she has truly inspired me to jump outside of my comfort zone and explore a bit. She has a very unique style and I love it.

6. Compare and Contrast: My journal image looks a lot like hers but may be a little more yellow. Her wine glasses are on a wooden table as mine were on a black table. But the wine glasses to look about the same in brightness. The beer glass has a striped shadow over it as mine does not. I am super mad about that because I forgot to take the shadow for that.
7. Personal Artist Statement: For my journal image I had to use the hue and saturation to make the lips more vibrant. I also took and old looking parchment paper and over laid it to make it look more old/yellow. For the wine glasses I had to blur out the sides and the silverware. And for the beer glass I just increased the contrast and made the picture black and white. I also did increase the definition of the glass.
